Subject: PTOST Logistics Update Feb 17, 2003 Participants and PI's, Due to inclement weather and various travel issues, the schedule of major campaign dates has been modified as follows: Feb 16 NASA Langley Advance Team departs Norfolk VA Feb 17 Advance team checks out offices at Air Service Hawaii Other teams continue travel Feb 18 NAST-I team set up offices at Air Service Hawaii Langley Advance team check out offices and facilities at Hickam AFB Participants may begin to set up computers in buildings 2055, 1045 and have them scanned. Conduct comm checks with participating facilities ER-2 arrive Hickam. Feb 19 Down-day. Hazmat (dimethylhydrazine fuel) briefing to Hickam Fire Dept. Daily Operations Schedule Begins with 3:00 PM Kickoff meeting Feb 20 First available measurement flight day Mar 12 Last available measurement flight day and THORPEX departure day Mar 13 WSRP deployment ends A few notes and reminders regarding Air Services Hawaii, Hickam AFB and THORPEX accommodations. 1. Office space at Air Services Hawaii has been obtained for the use if the NAST-I analysis team from the University of Wisconsin and some of the associated scientists. All non-US citizens participating in the campaign will also be accommodated there. 2. Access to Hickam facilities is restricted to personnel who have provided personal data to Jeanette. Upon arriving at Hickam, those individuals should check in to the Visitor Center (Pass Office) where you will be directed to building 1045 to receive your badge from her. 3. Accommodations in ER-2 Ops (bldg 1045) are limited to instrument teams who have already been promised space. 4. Daily 2003 PAC THORPEX OST Operations are currently scheduled to be coordinated from building 2055 with a telcon link to Air Services Hawaii for 3:00 PM ops planning meetings. Please provide me the number of computers that you will need to connect to the internet in 2055 and note the OS of each system. You will be apprehended by security forces. All personnel requiring access to their instruments need to see Jeanette at building 1045. She is responsible for ER-2 access. 6. The Kick-off meeting (first planning meeting) is still scheduled for 3:00PM, Wednesday, February 19, 2003. Unless we decide to consolidate some of our activities, it will still be held in building 2055 at Hickam. I will notify you if there are any changes. John Murray
